Media & Communications Trainer
MAXINE MONTGOMERY is an award-winning reporter with a decade of experience in journalism.
She started her career on the banks of the Clyde working across local weekly newspapers, before moving on to the Glasgow Evening Times where she spent five years as a senior reporter. There, she covered everything from crime and court to health and politics.
In 2020, Maxine began her role as a campaigning journalist with the Give Our OAPs a Shot pledge, which successfully overturned health board policy to ensure Glasgow’s most vulnerable people received their flu vaccinations first. It went on to win Campaign of the Year at the Scottish Press Awards in 2021.
From there, she campaigned for food and toys for families struggling with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic during the Christmas period and, most recently, she set out to turn around Greater Glasgow’s low smear test uptake with the Don’t Fear the Smear pledge.
Throughout her time career, Maxine made countless appearances on radio and television, for the likes of BBC and Bauer as well as documentaries for Channel 5 and Sky Crime.
Now, she’s focused on helping others manage the complicated world of communications.
Maxine is an avid film and television fan who is often glued to a new TV programme.
A sun worshipper, Maxine is always daydreaming of vacations while running around after her two children.
